There are some who say that The King's Singers are the finest vocal ensemble in the world. I know that's not fair to the rest of them, but, hey, who am I to argue? They earn this moniker through the wide variety of music they perform so well.
Established in 1968 and originally affiliated with King's College, Cambridge, from whence comes their name, this sextet of Englishmen combines musical excellence with a diverse repertoire, ranging from folk songs to madrigals to contemporary pop hits. The group's universal popularity stems from its unique ability to communicate the sheer enjoyment of singing a vast and eclectic repertoire.
The King's Singers "Simple Gifts" CD won the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover album!
